Events

Silent Book Club at GCSU - Unlike a typical book club, there is no assigned reading. Bring your own book of any kind (novel, text book, graphic novels, etc.), read quietly, and socialize if you feel like it.   It's a low-pressure opportunity to connect with other students.    Reading and making new friends enriches our lives and makes us happy. We love hearing about what people are reading (often in their other book clubs) and we think it's important to put down our phones and be social. Real, live, in the same room social, not hearting-you-on-Instagram social.   Silent Book Club is about finding community. All GCSU students are welcome!

What we do:

  • We read silently for one hour (bring any book you like).
  • After that, we hang out and talk—about what we’re reading or anything else on your mind.
  • If you don’t have a book, no worries! We’ll have a small selection available for you to choose from.

It’s a low‑pressure, cozy way to unwind, meet new people, and enjoy reading at your own pace.

Silent Book Club typically meets Mondays at 5PM in the HUB (Blackbridge Hall), but for the most up to date information and schedule use the Corq app or GC Connect.  For more information contact steve.wilson@gcsu.edu
