Graduate Opportunities

The Graduate School sponsors the following opportunities for graduate students to engage in a range of activities and share their knowledge for real-world success. Whether it is presenting research endeavors at professional conferences around the country or at the annual GC Research Day event, assisting a faculty member with instructional responsibilities, or performing professional tasks in an on-campus department as a graduate assistant, the opportunities provide added career and educational value. Graduate Research Travel Grant

Georgia College graduate students are encouraged to apply for Graduate Research Grants to support the registration costs  associated with the presentation of their own original scholarship at in-person and virtual professional academic conferences.

Outstanding Graduate Assistant Awards

The Graduate School wants to recognize the outstanding contributions graduate assistants provide in supportive roles to students, faculty, staff, and the university as a whole while pursuing graduate studies. Established in 2019, the awards showcase and celebrate the hard work, dedication, and impact of Georgia College & State University graduate students. Outstanding Graduate Assistant Awards are presented in the spring of each year.

Award Package – $200 from the Georgia College and State University Foundation, a framed certificate, and a swag gift bag.

Graduate Research Showcase

The Graduate Research Showcase is an opportunity for graduate students to showcase their research endeavors to the campus community. Research may be presented in any of the following formats and can include works in progress:

  • Oral Presentation (for research or creative works)
  • Poster Presentation (for research or creative works)
  • Performance Presentation (for drama, music, theater, creative writing, etc.)

Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week 2024

Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week celebrates the contributions of graduate students to the mission of Georgia College & State University and The Graduate School, raising awareness of graduate students’ efforts in teaching, research, and service to the university.
