Timeline and How to Get Involved
We want all members of the GCSU campus community to be informed about the strategic planning process and ways to be involved as it unfolds. The following information provides a timeline for activities and initiatives that are being planned in order to shape the strategic plan and solicit input from all university stakeholders.
October & November 2023
What Stakeholders Can Expect:
- Imagine 2030 Implementation begins
Get Involved By:
- Attending the Imagine 2030 Illumination Celebration
- October 16th, 4:00-5:00pm (Front Campus)
- Considering whether to become an Imagine 2030 Liaison for your unit
- Work with your unit to identify goals/objectives to commit to in 2024
August & September 2023
What Stakeholders Can Expect:
- Imagine 2030 Strategic Plan approved by Executive Cabinet
- Strategic Planning Steering Committee develops subcommittees to handle Communication, Implementation, and Assessment or the strategic plan
- Steering Committee holds two Open Forum & Table-Top Discussion events

- Attending an Open Forum & Table-Top Discussion event
- Tuesday, September 26 (10:30-11:45am), Magnolia Ballroom
- Friday, September 29 (3:00-4:15pm), Pat Peterson Museum Education Room
March & April 2023
What Stakeholders can expect:
- Strategic Planning Steering Committee determines key pillars from data sources
- Unit, department, and program-level conversations begin around linking to and supporting the new strategic pillars.
- Strategic Pillars shared in the State of the University Address
- Town Halls to discuss the Strategic Pillars
Get involved by:
- Attending the Town Hall Meetings
- Face-to-face event: Wednesday, March 8 (12:00-1:00pm), Magnolia Ballroom
- Virtual event: Wednesday, March 8 (5:30-6:30pm) in ZOOM (Meeting ID: 916 3317 4332 Passcode: 814480)
- Provide feedback on the five strategic pillars and descriptors.
- Considering how divisions, units, departments, and programs can link to and support the strategic pillars
February 2023
What Stakeholders can expect:
- President Cox shares recent updates about Imagine 2030 and the strategic plan's proposed pillars at State of the University Address (February 3, 2:00pm, Russell Auditorium)
- Imagine 2030 Committee shares draft plan broadly for feedback from all stakeholders
Get involved by:
- Attending the Imagine 2030 town hall in-person event (time and location TBA)
- Attending the Imagine 2030 town hall virtual event (time and location TBA)
- Reviewing the website to learn more about Imagine 2030 and ways to get involved

- Imagine 2030 Committee identifies strategic pillars based on commonly-discussed themes from stakeholder data, describes and contextualizes strategic pillars

November & December 2022
What Stakeholders can expect:
- Imagine 2030 Committee analyzes data from stakeholder survey, continues generating and refining themes, holds a retreat (December), and begins to draft plan based on stakeholder feedback

- Sharing your thoughts on the Imagine 2030 Student Survey (survey closes 11/30)
- Reviewing the website to learn more about Imagine 2030 and ways to get involved

September & October 2022
What Stakeholders can expect:
- Focus groups begin with all stakeholders
- Launch of all stakeholder survey (October)
- Questions of the week posted in prominent locations on campus.
- Imagine 2030 Committee meets bi-weekly, begins analyzing data from discussion circles, hold a retreat (October), and begins generating themes based on community feedback

- Answering questions of the week on white boards across campus
- Reviewing the website to learn more about Imagine 2030 and ways to get involved
