Clothing, Footwear and Gear:  As a general rule, participants will need to wear their own closed toe shoes and adequate clothing for all trips and workshops. We will provide participants with a list of program specific clothing, footwear and gear needs before each trip.

  • The Outdoor Center at Georgia College (OC) provides all group gear participants will need (canoes, life jackets, tents, stoves, etc..).
  • The OC also has a long list of personal gear that participants can borrow while on an OC trip (rain gear, sleeping bags, backpacks, water bottles, etc..)

Pre-Trip Meetings:  Many programs include a Pre-Trip Meeting. Pre-trip meetings are an important part of our programming and help to ensure participants the best possible outdoor experience. At a pre-trip meeting you will be able to meet the staff and other program participants, go over the required gear list, discuss trip logistics and have an opportunity to ask questions.

Meeting participants ahead of time also allows the staff to adjust any route or lesson plans to best suit the participants. If you cannot attend a scheduled pre-trip meeting, please let us know ASAP so we can schedule a make-up meeting!

Safety:  Participant safety is our first priority. Our staff is dedicated to the physical and emotional well being of all participants. Trip specific safety information will be included in your pre-trip meeting. Please let us know if you have any specific questions or concerns.

All Adventure Programs are tobacco, alcohol and drug/substance free.
