Returning Students

Welcome Back!

Returning-Transfer applicants were once enrolled at Georgia College, transferred to another school and would like to transfer back to Georgia College & State University.

Note: Returning students are subject to Catalog policies for academic standing such as warning, probation, dismissal, or exclusion. Please contact the Academic Advising Center at 478-445-2361 for guidance on academic standing re-admission policies. 

Returning-Transfer Admissions Requirements

Applications are reviewed once a file becomes complete which means all required documentation has been received by the Georgia College Admissions Office. Admission files should be complete by the indicated priority deadlines. Students are required to have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.5 or higher . Note that Nursing majors are required to have a minimum of a 2.75 GPA or higher.

1. One year or less since last enrollment

Undergraduate Update Form: Visit the Undergraduate Update Form page and submit the form. Once the form has been received, the Office of Admissions will update your file.

Application Fee: Application fee is waived.

Transcripts: Transcripts must be sent directly from each and every college (including technical institutions) attended to the GC Office of the Admissions.

Note: Official transcripts from Georgia College do not have to be requested.

Faxed documents and copies provided by the student are NOT considered official and will not be used for admission purposes. Courses from one institution that are listed on another college transcript will not substitute for an official transcript. Prior educational experience may not be omitted from an application package.

2. Beyond one year, but less than six years since last enrollment

Undergraduate Application: The Undergraduate application is used to apply as a returning transfer student. Please submit ONLY ONE application and use ONLY that application all the way through to submission. Submitting more than one application will most certainly delay your admission decision.

Application Fee: Application fee is waived. Please select the “Fee Waiver” option before completing your application to secure this waiver.

Returning-Continuing STUDENTS Admissions Requirements

Returning-Continuing applicants were once enrolled at Georgia College, but have been absent for one or more terms and have not attended any other schools during the absence.

Note: Returning students are subject to Catalog policies for academic standing such as warning, probation, dismissal, or exclusion. Please contact the Academic Advising Center at 478-445-2361 for guidance on academic standing re-admission policies. 

1. One year or less since last enrollment

Deadlines

Student applications are evaluated once the file is complete with all supporting documents received. Evaluations and notifications are processed on a rolling basis. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the application process as early as possible and well in advance of posted deadlines. Qualified students are admitted on a space available basis.  Admission files should be complete for the following terms by the indicated deadlines:

July 1
