Fostering an Ethical Campus Community
At Georgia College & State University, maintaining an ethical, transparent, and supportive environment is essential to our mission. We are dedicated to preventing, detecting, and addressing fraud, waste, abuse, and other wrongdoing across our community.
How to Report a Concern
If you notice a potential issue, you have several ways to convey your concern:
Supervisory Chain: If you are an employee, contacting your direct supervisor or leadership is often the fastest way to achieve a thorough resolution.
Campus Resources: You may reach out directly to Public Safety, Employee Relations, Student Conduct, or Information Technology.
Ethics and Compliance Reporting Hotline: Hosted by an independent third party, this reporting system is available 24/7 and allows you to submit concerns anonymously if preferred.
What should be reported?
- USG Code of Conduct violations
- Discrimination or harassment
- Research or academic misconduct
- Privacy violations
Protection against Retaliation - Whistleblower Protection
Per Section 16.06 of the USG Business Procedures Manual, employees have an affirmative duty to report wrongdoing promptly. GCSU strictly prohibits retaliation against anyone who reports a violation or assists with an authorized investigation. Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including the termination of employment. Alleged retaliation by an employee should be reported to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
