The Master of Education in Special Education General Curriculum is structured for teachers who already hold a level four teaching certificate from the State of Georgia. Graduate students of this degree program will be focused on school improvement plans and methods for children and youth (grades P-12). Teachers will examine their own school’s needs, create a plan for improvement and share their outcomes with local, regional, state and national associations. Courses are offered in a completely online format.
Option 1: Applicants who have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 from a regionally accredited university may be considered for admission to College of Education graduate programs OR
Option 2: Applicants who have completed an undergraduate degree with an overall GPA between 2.5 and 2.74 from a regionally accredited university and hold 3 successful years of teaching experience, as documented by a letter from the current employer, may be considered for admission to a College of Education graduate program.

Candidates apply for upgrades through their school systems or directly to the Professional Standards Commission. Candidates must claim Georgia College & State University as their provider.
