Graduation & Commencement

Taking the Next Step

Graduation is the process of completing all requirements for a degree program and being awarded a degree. To receive a degree, candidates are required to apply for graduation by the deadline and to complete all requirements by the last day of the term in which the degree will be conferred. Commencement is a ceremony in which a student is recognized by the university community, family and friends. Participating in commencement does not imply or guarantee that a student has graduated.

Commencement

Georgia College will hold a virtual commencement ceremony for December 2020 graduates on Saturday, December 12, at 1:00 PM, when we would have gathered for this important tradition.  Graduation candidates will receive an email from StageClip at their bobcats email address with instructions for participating in the virtual ceremony.  Students will have the option to upload a photo, a quote or comment, and a video clip that will be used during the student recognition part of the ceremony.  Every December graduation candidate who applied for graduation by October 31 will be included in this ceremony, and participating will not exclude a student from later participation in our rescheduled traditional ceremonies.  This event will be broadcast as a YouTube Premiere event, so we encourage you and your family and friends to join us live and interact with us during the ceremonies. The ceremony will be available at https://georgia-college.stageclip.com/
