Training and Employee Development


Training and Employee Development  is committed to providing the Georgia College community an opportunity for continued improvement and development through compliance training and new employee orientation in addition to professional development and enrichment opportunities.


Training and Employee Development is housed within the Office of Human Resources in the Division of Finance and Administration of Georgia College. The program is led by the Professional Development and Training Specialist with the support of the Chief Human Resource Officer and the Office of Human Resources support staff.

New Employee Orientation

We have the responsibility of being among the first to welcome new employees to the Georgia College family. We review the history and background of the university, campus and USG policies, and helpful tips for adjusting to Georgia College and the Milledgeville way of life. All Georgia College employees must complete a New Employee Orientation at the time of hire. Once a new employee has submitted a signed offer letter, the orientation and onboarding process begins. Compliance Training

We ensure that all employees of Georgia College complete required training for policy, ethics, safety, loss prevention, and information security both at the time of hire and through refresher courses as needed. Our goal is to provide each employee the tools and resources they need to be successful.

Face to Face Programs

Working with our partners, we provide training through workshops, talks, and demonstrations to the campus community. Upcoming training is announced through FrontPage and on our Programs page.

Online Training

We provide online training through as well as through GeorgiaVIEW. These courses may be accessed at through the training site. Additionally, we also provide a site license to Percipio, Skillsoft's immersive learning platform, designed to make learning easier, more accessible, and more effective.

Other Campus Opportunities

Additional development opportunities are offered by other offices on campus, including:

  • Development funds available through Staff Council.
  • Diversity programming offered through the Office of Inclusive Excellence.
  • The Tuition Assistance Program from the Office of Academic Affairs and the University System of Georgia.
  • A referral program with CGTC's Adult Education program for individuals seeking to complete their GED or improve literacy.
Professional Development Submission

We maintain records of training completed by each Georgia College employee, and training transcripts are available upon request. You may also submit outside professional development using the form below.
