Bobcats FIRST: QPR (Question Persuade Refer) Suicide Prevention Training
Bobcats FIRST is GCSU's campus wide mental health initiative. QPR is an evidence-based training that equips participants with skills to identify and effectively intervene with a person in crisis. QPR training requires no prior knowledge and is appropriate for all audiences. The 90-minute training can be offered for groups of up to 35 people at no cost.

Communities In Schools: Weekly Tutoring or Special Events - Volunteer Opportunities
Weekly tutoring occurs Monday through Friday between 8AM and 3PM. Volunteer tutors (students, faculty, staff, or community members) would work at one of Baldwin County School District's schools for at least 1 hour per week, for at least 1 semester. For our K-5 students, we primarily focus on literacy support. For our 6-8 grade students, we provide mentoring and support in any subjects they may find challenging. Special Events occur periodically throughout the school year. We often have a need for volunteers to come read to a class for Read for the Record (October), Read Across America (March), Books Fairs (throughout the school year), and/or Field Day (May). These one time events are a great way for students, faculty, staff, and community members to get involved with our local public schools.

Registered Student Organization (RSO) Advisor Sign Up
A student organization advisor serves as a mentor and resource for student leaders, offering guidance on planning events, managing budgets, and navigating institutional policies. They help ensure the organization operates responsibly while encouraging student autonomy and leadership development. Advisors also provide continuity from year to year and step in to support problem-solving or conflict resolution when needed.

Bobcat Boo Bash
Bobcat Boo Bash is a campus-wide Halloween and fall-themed community engagement event hosted by University Housing and Residence Life at Georgia College & State University. The program brings together students, faculty, staff, and local families for an interactive evening filled with trick-or-treating, games, themed activities, music, and community partner engagement across campus. The event is designed to promote school spirit, create a sense of belonging, and provide students with opportunities to build connections outside of the classroom while fostering a safe and inclusive campus environment.
