Accreditation Information

The College of Education at Georgia College is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), ( This accreditation covers initial teacher preparation programs and advanced educator preparation programs at Milledgeville Georgia and in Macon Georgia (at Central Georgia Technical College's Macon Campus Building I), and online. However, the accreditation does not include individual education courses that the institution offers to PK-12 educators for professional development, re-licensure or other purposes. We have maintained accreditation with NCATE since 1955, the year after NCATE was founded. Like other former NCATE institutions, the COE programs are being transitioned to CAEP accreditation (

The College is also accredited by the Georgia Professional Standards Association (PSC; Approved Programs). The University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

The graduates from 2010-2014 went to work in 100 out of the 181 school districts in Georgia (95 of the 159 counties in Georgia). See where these graduates are working to educate the children in Georgia.
